Miami University Spring Break
Spring Break for Miami University is just three weeks away. From March 21 to March 29 there will be no classes and other university services will be closed or have shorter hours. Check the specific Miami facilities and services websites for schedule details.
Residence halls on campus will close on Friday, March 20, at 7:00pm and will remain closed until Sunday, March 29, at 9:00am. Many students choose to leave campus during this time, but staying on campus is also an option.
If you plan on staying on campus during Spring Break, you must log into MyCard and click on the My Plans for Spring Break Housing section. Please complete this before the break period begins so your ID card will have access to your hall and room throughout the break period. Ask your RA or RD for assistance.
If you plan on traveling outside of Oxford during the Spring Break, arrange accordingly for your residence hall or off campus residence (turn off electronics, secure doors and windows, arrange pet care, etc.).
If you plan on traveling outside of the US during Spring Break, make sure your required documents and travel signature are up to date. Also, read more about travel considerations in the Immigration Tip below.
During Spring Break ISSS will have several events for those staying in Oxford.

COVID-19 Travel Restrictions
Due to concerns regarding coronavirus (COVID-19) transmission, a presidential proclamation has been issued suspending entry to the U.S. for all nonimmigrants, including F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors, who were physically present in China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau) within the 14 days preceding their attempted entry. This policy went into effect February 2nd, 2020 and remains in effect at this time.
Students who had been planning to travel to China over Spring Break are strongly encouraged to reconsider their plans. If the current travel ban remains in effect, students who travel to China will not be permitted to re-enter the U.S. and will likely need to withdraw from Spring semester.
At this time, there are no special restrictions in place that would prevent students from re-entering the U.S. after traveling to other countries such as Mexico (a popular Spring Break location) as long as they have all their required documents. Note, however, that the COVID-19 situation is continuously developing, and all international travel includes some degree of risk.
