National Speech and Debate Education Day Recap » Thank you to all the coaches, students, alumni, administrators, sponsors, and donors who joined us in celebrating National Speech and Debate Education Day on March 3! We are proud to recognize the amazing work our coaches do every day. We are so appreciative of all the leaders who assisted us in getting state resolutions, school board proclamations, and city declarations passed to celebrate National Speech and Debate Education Day. Check out the map to see where the day was officially recognized and watch the video below to see celebrations across the country! 
Award Announcements » On March 3, we announced the inaugural National Educator of the Year Award winner and the Exemplary Student Service Award winner. Congratulations to educator Renee Motter of Colorado and senior Delanya Storey of Alabama.

COOLIDGE CUP
Big Scholarship Opportunity » The Coolidge Foundation is setting out to find the top debaters in America. On Monday, March 20, the top 10 NSDA debate point earners, as ranked by cumulative NSDA points in their individual debate events, will qualify for the Coolidge Cup and the chance to win $10,000 in scholarships and prizes this July! Be sure your points record is accurate and up to date by March 20. 
 
The Coolidge Cup National Debate Tournament begins in winter 2017 with regional qualifying tournaments. Top placers from these qualifying events will earn the right to compete in the Coolidge Cup Championship Tournament taking place July 3-4, 2017, in President Coolidge’s historic village, the picturesque town of Plymouth Notch, Vermont. Qualifiers earn a free trip to Vermont to compete. More than $10,000 in scholarships and prizes will be awarded to the winners of the 2017 Coolidge Cup.
