Quaker Shenanigans: White Supremacy Culture in Business Meeting Workshop, March 7 at 10:00am |
How can we know when we are caught up in the ways of our dominant culture and when we are being true to the Spirit in our Friends processes? In this workshop sponsored by BYM Reparations Action Working Group and delivered by Adelphi Friends Michael Levi and Jade Eaton, we will disentangle Quaker business practices grounded in foundational spiritual principles from those that reflect White, middle-class, college-educated cultural norms.

| Nature Notes from BYM Unity with Nature Committee |
Nature-friendly bills being considered by the Maryland legislature this year include proposals that would protect vernal pools (SB 523), ban government purchase of gasoline-powered leaf blowers (HB 167), create a deposit-refund system for beverage containers (HB 331/SB 342), and increase investment in mass transit (HB 836/SB 631). Help care for the earth by supporting these and other initiatives! The Sierra Club (Maryland) website is a good source of information or contact the BYM Unity with Nature Committee at unitywithnature@bym-rsf.org
