Great Lakes Freshwater Symposium: Water Resource Management on Indigenous Lands |
Water resources management on Indigenous lands in the U.S. is complicated due to a lack of high-quality and easily accessible databases. Grace Bulltail and Parisa Sarzaeim will share their research on the availability and quality of publicly available tribal-led water-climate-environment nexus databases on reservations and tribal lands. This is an online event open to all.

Clean Boats, Clean Waters Summer Internships
|
The UW Oshkosh ERIC lab is hiring PAID interns for the Clean Boats Clean Waters Program in Vilas County. Interns inspect watercraft for aquatic invasive species and provide information to boaters about prevention. Positions are open to students from any UW school. Applications still being accepted. Special Topics in Freshwater Science Laboratory and Field Techniques |
May 28 – June 14
Gain practical knowledge of field measurements of water-related processes such as water quality, soil properties, greenhouse gas emissions, and laboratory practices. Taught by faculty from UW-River Falls and UW-Madison. Lodging and accommodations provided. 2 credits.

Field Sampling and Analysis, Door County and Land O' Lakes |
June 10 – June 21
Learn practical and hands-on environmental sampling, experiments and analysis. The course takes place on the Lowenwood campus in Land O’ Lakes and at the UW Oshkosh laboratory at Crossroads at Big Creek in Door County. 3 credits.

Fish Culture Techniques and Practices |
June 24 – July 20
Learn introductory fish culture techniques with a focus on model fish (zebrafish) and aquaculture fish for food or conservation (Lake sturgeon, yellow perch, and walleye). Takes place at UW-Milwaukee’s School of Freshwater Sciences. 3 credits.
