Dear Graduate Student,
The results are in.
In Spring 2024, as part of the University’s Campus Constituent Survey Cycle, all full- and part-time graduate students were invited to participate in the Graduate Student Experience Survey (GSES). The population included students enrolled in Lawrence programs (online or in-person) at the master’s, education specialist program, and research doctoral levels. Survey participants were from programs at Edwards, Lawrence, Leavenworth, Pittsburg, and Salina.
You can review the summary report, which highlights the key findings from the survey.
Out of 4,365 invited graduate students who were invited to participate, we received 1,304 responses — a response rate of 29.9%. Responses included feedback from 537 doctoral, 763 master’s, and 4 specialist program students.
Thanks to everyone who participated. Your feedback is invaluable.
Next Steps
Now, we’ll use your feedback to make KU better – for those students still here as well as for future graduate students.
As part of the constituent survey process, Provost Barbara Bichelmeyer appointed an advisory committee to analyze the data and, working with graduate students, develop actionable recommendations. The committee is composed of individuals from numerous programs who have direct involvement with graduate students, including faculty, staff, other students and administrators.
To ensure that those who are interested have a chance to contribute to this process, we are hosting a series of engagement forums. These sessions will provide an opportunity to review the survey results, share your perspectives, and collaborate on solutions to improve the graduate student experience at KU.
