We Won!

Your vote(s) helped power us to victory in the First Tech Season of Giving contest. Hooray!! Between the online voting and the votes in the branch, Page Ahead will receive a total of $18,000. Best of all, 409 children will get the joy of starting their own home libraries thanks to you and First Tech.

Next Round of New Books on the way for Story Leaders

The next round of books making their way to the young readers enrolled in our Story Leader program are the popular books "Please, Mr. Panda", "Caps For Sale" and "Giraffes Can't Dance". These boxes of new books are being distributed to nine early learning preschool sites across Washington. Each classroom enrolled in our program receives their new books, along with educational resources for their parents and extension activities for their teachers. Read more... 

Family on a Mission


Charnaie Gordon and her two children recently donated 50 brand new, diverse children's books to Page Ahead. The Connecticut family called us in November and asked if we would accept the books. 
Holiday Book Drives

During this giving season, we are delighted our friends at The Elliot Bay Book Company and Barnes & Noble have chosen to put new books in the hands of kids who need them. Select locations will be collecting new books for Page Ahead. Stop by to complete your holiday shopping and support their efforts to give kids in need the chance to read!

Last week we met a little girl named Teagan who selected Page Ahead to donate her Christmas money to, so that children in need would have new books.
A Fond Farewell
This month we had to say goodbye to our retiring volunteer (of 20 plus years'), JoAnn Bader. We held an appreciation party for JoAnn, who has moved to Issaquah with her husband, Paul. Our longest serving volunteer, JoAnn helped to ship hundreds of thousands of books across the state. Read more...
