As we publish the last newsletter of 2022, we want to express our gratitude. We truly have the best customers on the planet, we have assembled an amazing team to serve those customers, and we were able to host not one but two in-person user groups in Nashville!
The year's not over yet though! We just released 11 new tutorials, scheduled 5 webinars, opened TUGM 2023 registration, and featured Andrei Bujor in our latest Customer Spotlight.

The P11 Days of Christmas |
Most everyone knows “And a partridge in a pear tree" as well as The Twelve Days of Christmas holiday carol that contains it. We aren’t going to sing or play that song for you; instead, we have something special in the form of the P11 days of Christmas.
In conjunction with the rollout of our new Protector 11 fraud management system (aka P11), the Support team created 11 new tutorials (under 5 mins each) to explain and demonstrate the most-frequently used (e.g., security, Warehouse) and newest features (e.g., reports, templates).

The final ‘Customer Spotlight’ of 2022 shines on our good friend and long-time associate Andrei Bujor. We were honored he could participate in this year’s Protector User Group Meeting (PUGM) in Nashville. Having been in the telecom industry since early 2010, Andrei has a wealth of experience and insight he shared with attendees. According to Andrei, the educational sessions were the best part of the conference. “I really enjoyed the presentations! Each Equinox person spoke on a different topic, which allowed me to not only learn more about Protector 11, but to also put a face with the person behind the email or phone call. I really appreciated the guest speakers, Jaime Zetterstrom and Stacy Graham, sharing their knowledge and introducing several new concepts.”

Andrei has been involved with the Protector application ever since his organization licensed and deployed it in 2013. In his current role as Senior Manager, Service Abuse & Fraud Prevention, Andrei is responsible for managing a team of fraud investigators and analysts who respond to incidents related to signup, subscription, and telecom fraud. As result, he and his team use Protector daily for CDR monitoring and analysis as part of their efforts to identify and prevent telecom fraud and network abuse. Andrei explains, “We love the system’s profiling and flexibility. We have alarms set to accommodate our specific use cases. The portal’s CDR Warehouse is extremely useful for identifying trends and patterns, and the case management tools let us compartmentalize events.”
He and his team know the support and training personnel by name, as they have worked together for years. Andrei describes this relationship as different than most in the business world. “Their availability and responsiveness are unparalleled. They always get back to me in record time. Also, the interpersonal, relationship side of things is wonderful. We’ve met in person at user groups and CFCA events and had extended conversations. It’s evident in the team’s attitude that the company is family oriented and has achieved a good work life balance…although support is available afterhours if needed, they don’t sound stressed out or overworked.”
Born in eastern Europe, raised in California, Andrei currently resides in western Washington, 45 minutes outside Seattle. When he’s not protecting his organization and their customers from fraudulent or abusive incidents, Andrei enjoys riding motorcycles, playing fantasy football, and hiking. In fact, having access to so many wonderful outdoor activities is a primary reason he moved to Washington. Andrei’s true passion though is cooking—he’s not afraid to try new recipes or take on a challenge.
Andrei is a valued member of the Equinox community. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue partnering with him and appreciate his collaboration on Protector and fraud management initiatives in general!
