Mardi Gras Ball Feb. 6
Join in on the Franklin County Mardi Gras Festivities on February 6 as the Franklin County Habitat for Humanity hosts its annual Mardi Gras benefit celebration in Apalachicola. The group will host a Mardi Gras Dinner and Ball on Saturday, Feb. 6 beginning at  5:30 pm. The event will take place at the newly renovated Fort Coombs Armory in Apalachicola. Click here for details
Mardi Gras Barkus Parade Feb. 6
The Mystic Krewe of Salty Barkers will host a Mardi Gras Barkus Parade on Feb. 6 in Apalachicola. The theme for this year is Woofstock. Dogs dressed as hippies, flower pooches, the Grateful Dogs - with their people in similar garb. An after party with authentic Cajun food, refreshments, games, a picture booth, live music and dancing. Come immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes promised by this fun event. All proceeds go to the Apalachicola City Dog Park and the Franklin County Humane Society. Click here for details.
Forgotten Coast Chef Sampler Feb. 28
The Apalachicola Bay Chamber of Commerce will host the 20th Annual Forgotten Coast Chefs Sampler on Sunday, February 28, 2016, from 6-9 pm.  Chefs from all over the Forgotten Coast will prepare their most creative dishes at the historic Fort Coombs Armory located on 4th Street and Avenue D in Apalachicola.  Sample an array from our area restaurants. Snowbird Appreciation Day February 9
This annual event is sponsored by the St. George Island Business Association to benefit winter visitors in the area to enjoy an evening out on St. George Island.   This year Snowbird Day consists of happy hour, dinner and live music.

Apalachicola School of Art Features Folk Exhibit beginning in February
The Apalachicola Center for
History, Culture and Art will host a private collection of folk art by noted artists including Charlie Lucas, Richard Burnside, James Harold Jennings and Reverend Benjamin Franklin "B.F" Perkins. The exhibit will run February 4 through April 2. There will be an exhibit reception on Feb. 13 from 6-8 p.m. at the Center located downtown Apalachicola. Click here for details

St. George Island Home Tour Feb. 13
The St. George Island Tour of Homes will be held Feb. 13, 2016. The tour features distinctive homes from beach to bay. Museum Work Exhibit
The Apalachicola Municipal Library and the Historic Apalachicola Foundation are hosting a traveling Smithsonian exhibit through March 12. The exhibit, entitled "The Way We Worked", explores how work became such a central element in American culture, by tracing the many changes that affected the workforce and the work environment over the past 150 years. The exhibit is on display at the Apalachicola Museum of Art located at 96 5th Street, Apalachicola. Click for details. 
Panhandle Players Perform Dixie Swim Club
The Panhandle Players will present Dixie Swim Club Friday, Feb. 12 and Saturday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 pm Sunday, Feb. 14 at 3 pm at the Eastpoint Fire House. Tickets $15 each. Click here for details.

African American History Festival 
Februry 19-21
H’COLA’s 13th Annual African-American History Festival will be held Feb. 19-21, 2016. This event is a celebration of African-American history, life, music and culture. This outdoor, family-oriented event is filled with varied artists and entertainers, children’s activities, arts, history, education, health & wellness and more.  There will be live entertainment throughout the two day event.
