It's a pleasure to welcome you all back for the start of another exciting semester. I hope you had a joyful and restful break over the holidays. On behalf of myself and the entire Graduate Affairs team, we wish you a very happy and healthy new year!
As we embark on this new year and new semester, many of you are likely thinking about your goals. Your time at Seton Hall has likely been shaped by the many objectives you've set for yourself. We are thrilled to be a part of your journey and to assist you along the way.
One of our office’s goals is to continue to engage with our graduate students and improve our communication and interaction with you. This monthly newsletter is one way we are striving to connect. Please make sure to read it each month to stay informed about what's happening and to learn about the amazing work and activities in which our graduate students are involved.
We are also very excited to celebrate our graduate students during our second annual Graduate Student Appreciation Week, taking place from March 31 to April 4. Graduate Student Appreciation Week is a period each year when colleges and universities across the nation celebrate and recognize the contributions of their graduate students. This month's newsletter includes a preliminary schedule of events at Seton Hall to mark this significant week, with the finalized schedule to be released next month. Be sure to mark your calendars!

Sincerely,
Christopher Cuccia, Ed.D.

Samurah Curry
Major: M.A. in Communication
For Samurah Curry, choosing Seton Hall’s M.A. in Communication program was about finding a graduate experience that balanced flexibility, real-world opportunities, and personal growth.
Now thriving in the program, she sees it as the perfect foundation for tackling the challenges of today’s fast-paced communication industry.
“What I enjoyed most was engaging with new material and exploring ideas in depth. I wasn’t ready to give that up, which made pursuing a master’s degree the clear choice,” she explained.
| La'Tesha Sampson, Ph.D.
Director of Master’s in Public Administration;
Director, MSW Practicum Education
In December, Sampson was honored with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, bestowed by the White House. This award is given to individuals who demonstrate an unwavering commitment to volunteerism and community service, with a minimum of 4,000 volunteer hours over their lifetime. It recognizes those who have dedicated themselves to making a tangible and positive impact in their communities.
Sampson noted that “this honor serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of servant leadership and the responsibility we carry to uplift others.”
