Message from Fritz
Dear members,
I am excited to share that we are launching a membership engagement platform named “Friends of Surf.”
Its purpose is simple: encourage members to become integral parts of enhancing and enriching the Folsom Lake Surf experience for all players and their families.
Friends of Surf supports the Club through: 

  • Fostering a diverse, supportive, and tolerant community spirit among parents, players, coaches, and staff at the Club
  • Welcoming new families to Surf and offering support and other information that will help them assimilate into the Surf family
  • Coordinating and organizing activities, functions, information and services that promote and encourage such a spirit of community
  • Supporting and enhancing Club programs, coaches, and activities through facilitating and coordinating parent volunteers
  • Supporting and coordinating community event
With our 2021/22 calendar of activities and programs filling up with three tournaments, a Club camp and more specialized training programs, we are hoping our members will see the benefit of getting involved to ensure we offer a “best of the best” experience for our players and their families. It’s the Surf way. 
We will be providing you with more details about the committees that will be formed under “Friends,” but if you are interested in getting involved early to help us coordinate its rollout, or are interested in chairing a committee, please write to us at FoS@folsomlakesurf.org.

Tryout dates for the 2021-2022 season are set!
U7 – U13 (2015 – 2008 birth years) will be held May 24-26
U14+ (2007 – 2003 birth years) will be held June 7-9
Times and locations will be annouced soon.
We are expecting low turnover. We recognize that the NorCal Premier tryout window is designed to give players the opportunity to visit other clubs to find the best fit. We recommend that if Surf is your first choice that you come to the first day of tryouts when a large portion of our teams rosters are finalized.

Program Updates
Surf Select NorCal Surf Soccer Club Surf Futsal
Surf Select 
The National Surf Select rosters have been finalized and we have several players representing our Club on these top teams! These National Teams will represent Surf Nation at tournaments in Europe and the US. We will be announcing tryouts for Surf Select 2021-22 sometime in June.
NorCal Surf Soccer Club 
This year we are forming teams in the 2010-2004 age groups. There will be additional Surf network opportunities for older players. 
Training/Intra-Squad Scrimmages have been set for May 23rd and June 6th at the River Islands Complex in Lathrop, Ca. Players have been nominated and invitations to this years training sessions.
Teams 2010-2005 will participate in the June 12-15 US Club National Cup in Davis, Ca. 2004 teams will have a modified program due to so many players already participating in this event with their own teams.
Surf Futsal
Unfortunately, due to out of state travel restrictions for youth sports teams, we will not be forming teams for Regionals in June in Las Vegas or Nationals in Orlando in July. With things opening up here at home, we are hopeful we can get into the facility we are planning to use for our training program, where will run sessions/tryouts for next season’s Regionals in December. We look forward to rolling out this program and we appreciate the initial response of enthusiasm when we attempted to launch the program earlier this year.

Town Hall Zoom Meetings
U7-U10 Town Hall U11-U14 Town Hall U15+ Town Hall
This Sunday, April 25th, we will be hosting town hall Zoom meetings for the following age groups:
  • U7-U10 Birth years: 2015, 2014, 2013 & 2014
    • April 25th at 6PM-6:50PM
  • U11-U14 Birth years: 2011, 2010, 2009 & 2008
    • April 25th at 7PM - 7:50PM
  • U15+ Birth years: 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004 & 2003
    • April 25th at 8PM - 8:50PM
In these Zoom calls we will discuss our coming season plans, our player pathway, NorCal Surf Soccer Club and Surf Nation opportunities, and more. These calls are meant for families not currently with our club who would like to understand our offering. Register your interest by subscribing to our mailing list. If you are currently with our club and know of others who would be interested in our club you can forward this information to them.
Zoom details will be emailed tomorrow night (Saturday, April 24th) to those who register interest by Noon tomorrow. Thank you to those who have already registered their interest!
