Spring 2021 Virtual Forums Recap

Thank you to all who participated in the virtual forums last week to learn about the university’s decision to continue online instruction this spring. If you were not able to attend and are interested in learning more please read this article recap and/or listen to recordings of the various forums.
Extended Deadline for Pass/No Pass Decision

Provost Blake announced today the decision to extend the pass/no pass deadline by one week, to Friday, November 13 at 5 p.m. EST.  If your student has already submitted a form with their chosen course, they DO NOT need to submit the web form included in today's message.  Students interested in making changes to their course selection, can speak with their academic advisor.  (Please note: Students on academic probation should meet with their advisors to discuss the impact this may have on their Financial Aid) 
Spring 2021 Registration Dates

Spring 2021 registration is right around the corner! Students will be able to register beginning at 9 a.m. EST based on the following schedule.  
  • Monday, November 16: 90 or more credits earned
  • Tuesday, November 17: 70 or more credits earned
  • Wednesday, November 18: 50 or more credits earned
  • Thursday, November 19: 30 or more credits earned
  • Friday, November 20: 0 or more credits earned

Meet the Connect to Campus Student Vloggers

As George Washington University students adjust to the virtual learning environment in their respective homes, many may be wondering what life looks like for their fellow students. This new vlogger series gives the GW community a look at what life is like on the physical campus as well as an inside look of the virtual campus experience.  Get to know the students here.

6th Annual Diversity Summit

What will our legacy be?

The Diversity Summit will take place virtually from November 11- November 13.  Students, staff, faculty, senior leaders, and alumni can register by November, 10 at noon, EST.  This year, we are grateful for the opportunity to invite members of the broader community (families, colleagues, friends, and scholars) to register for a fee of $20.  Click here to view the full Diversity Summit schedule.  

ENGAGE WITH GW
During the virtual forums, we heard family members were looking for opportunities during these virtual times to encourage their student to connect to campus.  Below are some ways students can learn about virtual engagement opportunities:
GW Engage: Engage is the primary platform for GW student organizations. Students can learn about GW's 500+ student organizations, request to join, and browse hundreds of student org events. Every student has access to Engage and can login with their NetID and password. Your student is also encouraged to email orghelp@gwu.edu for additional information and guidance on finding an organization that aligns with their passion and interest.  
University Calendar: Student organizations, university departments, and academic departments post their events on the main university calendar. 
SOCIAL MEDIA: Students may follow these instagram accounts to learn more about day-to-day life happening across GW.
