Team Nutrition, in partnership with the Culinary Institute of Child Nutrition (CICN), has released several new and updated culinary trainings, webinars, and recipes to provide school nutrition professionals with the tools to create scratch-based, healthy, student-approved school meals.
The Summer Meal Programs provide healthy and nutritious meals after the school year ends to children 18 years and younger and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old. The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) has developed no-cost, online resources and printed materials you can use to promote the availability of these meals for families in need. While there is no longer a first week site waiver available for SFSP as the flexibilities under that waiver are now within regulation, there is still a question (#44) in the 2023 Site Application pertaining to the waiver. TDA is providing instructions on how to answer this question.
