Fixed Route Bus Services - With your Miami ID card you can ride the public buses in Oxford for free! Buses travel to off-campus housing areas, uptown Oxford, and to the Miami Hamilton and Middletown regional campuses. Routes and hours are limited during orientation.ADA Services - Students with disabilities can use this door-to door service during fixed route service times. Shopping in Oxford
There are three main shopping areas in Oxford:
Uptown - This is home to many boutique and specialty shops where you can buy clothing, jewelry, books, and gifts. There are also many restaurants that feature a variety of foods.
Tollgate Shopping Center area - This area includes a major grocery store, clothing and home goods, and health and beauty supplies. Oxford Lane Library is located in this area and provides many community programs.
Stewart Square - A shopping center that offers a pharmacy, salon and spa, and a number of other specialty shops and restaurants.
Note: Upon your arrival in Oxford on August 15, we will provide transportation to Walmart for you to shop for necessities.

Climate and Seasons in Oxford
Oxford has four seasons. Over the course of the year, you will need clothes for hot, humid weather, rain, snow and ice. Before you depart, we suggest you check out weather.com (Oxford's zip code is 45056). In August, the weather will be hot and humid in Oxford, and rain is possible.

Miami ID Card & Technology
You will use your Miami ID card for many things on campus. You will obtain your ID card when you arrive, and submitting your photo online in advance will expedite the process.
We encourage you to start checking your Miami email account before arrival. If you have technical issues with your computer, email, Miami's wireless internet network, or Banner/unique ID and password, you can email ithelp@MiamiOH.edu.

Armstrong Student Center (ASC)Armstrong Student Center is a "hub" for student engagement. There are many spaces in the center where you will spend a lot of time studying, eating, and attending student activities.

King Library King Library is the main library with numerous group-study rooms. It is open 24 hours a day during the fall and spring semesters. Inside King, the Howe Writing Center is frequently used by international students. With your student account, you will be able to check out library books from Miami and other Ohio universities.

Graduate School & Staff ProfilesThe Graduate School, located in 102 Roudebush Hall (501 E. High Street), is committed to investing and maintaining excellence in graduate programs and supporting graduate students in their pursuit of new knowledge and ideas.

Dr. Jim OrisDr. Jim Oris serves as both the Dean of the Graduate School and the Associate Provost for Research in the Office for the Advancement of Research and Scholarship at Miami University. A biologist and faculty member at heart, Dean Oris is an advocate for graduate students at Miami University.

Jennifer Thach is the International Admissions Coordinator in the Graduate School. She is passionate about international graduate student success, assisting students from the application stage to when they walk across the stage at graduation. As a prior Miami graduate student, she is a great resource regarding living in Oxford, being involved, and balancing graduate school and work!
