June Is National Pride Month

St. Thomas is proud to celebrate National Pride Month and support those in the LGBT community. According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information, those who identify as LGBT, and especially the youth in this community, "...are at a higher risk for substance use, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), cancers, cardiovascular diseases, obesity, bullying, isolation, rejection, anxiety, depression, and suicide as compared to the general population." In accordance with St. Thomas' mission of reducing health disparities in our communities, it is vital to reach all groups of people to ensure they receive the quality of care they deserve.
