Be a Student Leader in the Speech and Debate Community

The Student Leadership Council (SLC) is composed of current high school members of the NSDA who produce content, develop resources, and provide feedback throughout the year to ensure we are meeting students’ needs. For example, they developed the Champion Q&As! If you want to help the NSDA support and engage student members next year, ask your coach to nominate you by February 15. Online Competition Opportunities
|
Springboard Capstone: The Springboard Capstone event is an online tournament hosted by the NSDA on Saturday, December 6. It is free to participate; there are no entry fees, and the tournament is open to members and non-members. This is your chance to demonstrate everything you are learning or have learned throughout the fall and celebrate your achievements in speech and debate! To get registered, please speak with your coach—they’ll help you sign up through the Springboard Capstone Registration page by December 1.

Submit Legislation for the National Congress
|
Calling all Congressional debaters! 🔈 Let your ideas shine and leave your mark on the 2026 National Tournament when you submit your original legislation for the docket. Any high school or middle school NSDA member student, no matter your national qualification status, can directly submit original legislation for the 2026 National Tournament in Richmond, Virginia. If selected you will receive:
- Recognition in Rostrum
- An award after the tournament
- A $100 scholarship
Don't miss this opportunity to make your voice heard on a national platform! Submit your legislation by February 5.
