Storytimes
 Movers and Shakers
best for ages 0-2
Wednesdays, 10:30am - 11:30 am
As children acquire language skills and concepts, we strive to incorporate those skills and concepts into many fun topics and socially supportive lessons. While we do want our children to be exposed to literacy topics and concepts, it is also very important to understand the developmental milestones our children meet. In addition, we provide time for free play and exploration. This is a holistic approach to educating children in a safe, fun and engaging environment.
We offer STEM-based Movers and Shakers on the second Wednesday of each month at the same time. Children will have hands-on experiences with numerous math and science concepts, as well as simple engineering and architecture. Our next STEM Movers and Shakers sessions will be May 8, and June 12, 2019

Read, Play, Grow   best for ages 2 and over
Thursdays, 10:30 - 11:30 am
This program will explore the more complex sides of literacy including phonemic awareness, letter symbol recognition, and strategies such as prediction and inferring. Our goal here is to take fun stories and look a bit deeper into other concepts within the story. We also strive to extend the concepts so that there are several chances to explore, not only the ideas and concepts but materials as well.
We offer STEM-based Read, Play, Grow every other Thursday (call for specific dates as these can change) at the normal Read, Play, Grow time. Children will have hands-on experience with mathematical concepts, engineering, life sciences, and even coding! We will also look at nonfiction and procedural texts. Our next STEM Read, Play, Grow sessions will be May 2 and 23, also on June 6 and 20, 2019
We now offer Yoga Storytime for children ages 2-5. This interactive program infuses literacy and storytelling with movements and mindfulness lessons geared toward our younger friends. These sessions will feature NCL staff as well as guest presenters from the community and run about 30min with a free play session afterwards. Yoga Storytime will be held on the 3rd Thursday of the month, with our next sessions on May 16, and June 20.
