District Leadership Election Details

Voting is underway in our biennial district leadership election and your participation is extremely important!

Leaders play a vital role in shaping the success of speech and debate in their community and across the country. District Committees plan and run the district tournament, work to recruit new schools and increase engagement, manage financial resources, determine local award winners, and more.

Call to Serve » If elected by your peers, we hope you'll strongly consider serving a two-year term as a district leader. You'll receive online training to learn the ins and outs of a District Committee and have access to ongoing mentorship and support from the national office.

Election Process » Each active member school shall have one vote. One chapter advisor may log in to their NSDA Account and select NSDA Voting from the menu to cast a ballot online for members of the District Committee from a list of coaches active (affiliated with an active school) in the district. Advisors must rank a minimum of six and a maximum of eight coaches. Carefully consider those best qualified and motivated to lead, as well as those who best uphold the NSDA values of integrity, inclusion, leadership, and service. Account for how well your committee choices reflect the student population your district serves.

The Middle School Administrator of the Year award honors administrators who have succeeded in providing high-quality opportunities for students in speech and debate programming as well as demonstrating exemplary contributions to the profession. Show Success with NSDA Insignia

Since our organization’s founding in 1925, coach and student members of the NSDA have had the unique opportunity to display their membership in the Honorary and take pride in their competitive success with NSDA insignia. Order insignia for yourself or your students and send your seniors off in style with NSDA honor cords. Jewel inserts for pins and pendants are determined based on the member’s earned points and degree level.

Alumni from your program can keep in touch with the speech and debate world by signing up for one of our two alumni lists! Subscribers receive quarterly information about National Tournament results, livestreams, special events, and more.

Nationals Topic Area

Use this form to submit your specific topic wording suggestions for the Science & Technology in the Breaking News PF topic area. Suggestions will be considered by the PF Wording Committee and voting will occur the last week of April.
