Message from the Interim Director of Extension

Well, we finally got some of those promised monsoon rains, although, as usual, some places received too little, others way too much. As we move into August, I know that we are getting close to the end of the monsoon season and also the beginning of a new school year. This will mean more traffic, buses on the road, and children playing at the bus stops waiting to be picked up. I ask that everyone plan on a couple of extra minutes in the morning as people get into the routine of another school year. Trust me; the work will still be here, even if you’re a few minutes late. So, take your time, be patient, and be alert. I’ll see many of you next week at our conference. Have a great week!

Welcome Matt Halldorson

We are excited to announce that Matthew Halldorson has joined Arizona Cooperative Extension as the Yavapai County Extension Director/Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent as of July 25.

Matt comes to Cooperative Extension from Benton City, Washington, where he worked as a Viticulturist.  He received his M.S. in Horticulture from Washington State University and his B.S. from NAU. Matt comes with strong leadership, teaching, and agriculture experience and knows Yavapai County.

Welcome, and we look forward to working with Matt.
