This week, delight in the story shared by Member Babette B.:
My Mom’s birthday was on September 13, in honor of her we were requested by my sister and my niece to give her the gift of time. I asked her if she would like to take a ride and see the leaves, they had just started in Western PA. She asked where would you like to go and I suggested PA, she replied with “let’s go to Longwood Gardens.” I grew up in a family business so we weren’t able to travel a lot together as one of us would stay and run the business so this was a special time for me. Over the years my Mom has frequented the Gardens with her friend Cheryl, her fiancée Bud, as well as other family members. We would drive to PA every summer in August to visit my Aunt Margaret and she would share her slides from Longwood Gardens. My first experience to visit with my Mom was this past October and what a beautiful and breathtaking experience! My Mom was the tour guide and she didn’t need the map; she navigated us through quite well like a professional! I can’t wait to go back for the Christmas lights, decorations, and flower presentation. She will be receiving a Membership gift for Christmas! So happy I finally was able to visit!
