Become an instant rock star! Come make a tambourine with The Mexican Museum, and decorate your instrument with the garden's treasures. Join in on the fun!

Night at the Conservatory: Summer Light Show Opening Night

Friday, May 12, 6:30-9:00pm
Explore the Conservatory's tropical plant collection after hours with interpretive volunteers and staff and stay until 8:30pm for the start of our new light show, Photosynthesis.

We invite you to bring a picnic to set up on our front lawns as the sun sets. The 30-minute light show will transform the building into a canvas for colorful light art installed by Lumigeek and synched with brand new music composed by Tim Digulla.

Growing in the Gardens

Garden After School Returning for 2023-2024 School Year!

After a long day of learning indoors, we love getting students outside so they can strengthen their connection to the natural world through nature journaling, guided observations, hands-on gardening, and unstructured creative free play.
We're proud to announce that prices are staying the same this semester, with additional payment plan options available for all families.
Join our interest list for the Fall semester here or email us with any questions.

Beyond the Gardens

What's the best part of visiting the Gardens for your family?

Exciting activities with Erick and Nichole in the Children's Garden? Joining Story Time at the Library for fun reading with Sharon? Grabbing a "Tropical Trekkers" booklet to explore the Conservatory of Flowers?
The Gardens of Golden Gate Park have so much to offer your family and we hope you'll agree that the people and programs are a big part of what makes a visit to the Gardens special. Our small but mighty Education Program works to provide opportunities for families, schools, summer camps, and community groups to connect with the natural world, with the vast majority of programs offered free of charge!
Would you consider helping us continue to provide essential nature engagement opportunities for kids from all parts of our community? Join us at Gala for the Gardens where Education Director Annette Huddle will be honored for 25 years of service to children at the Gardens.
Or perhaps consider making a donation to help support the Garden's youth programs, which include school field trips, family programs, high school internships, teacher training, and more. Fifty dollars restocks our crayons, markers, and paints, five hundred gets us new wheelbarrows, and five thousand will pay for a high school intern this summer - any amount at all makes a real difference for us! Thank you for your support of our people and programs.
See You in the Gardens!
