Tips and Tools
Balancing school with work, family, friends, and current events can often leave us little time to focus on our mental health. We encourage our students to take advantage of the free virtual workshops the University Counseling Center will be offering this fall:
9/24/2020: Self-Care and Stress Management - Claudia Norton, LMSW
Ever felt hangry? Too tired to focus? Learn about the behavioral and biological factors that contribute to stress, what you can do to improve self-care and form a plan to implement change.
10/01/2020: Progressive Muscle Relaxation - Frazier Woods, PLPC
A trained counselor will lead you through calming guided imagery and progressive muscle relaxation. You will also learn how to do this on your own. At the end of this session, you should feel relaxed, focused and ready to face your challenges.
10/8/2020: Improving Focus and Motivation - Laura Dickinson, LMSW
Struggling to complete your coursework? Spending hours on Netflix? Get concrete coping skills to improve focus and motivation, especially when working from home.
The Zoom link for each workshop can be found here. If you have any questions, please email bejohnso@loyno.edu for more information.
