|
|
Ding dong, WWL-itches!
We hope you’ve got room in your treat bags, because today’s edition is like a full-size candy bar amongst a sea of tiny banana Laffy Taffys.
As always: please stay safe out there, and be kind to each other. - Ian

Wherever you find yourself on campus – from labs or classrooms to virtually visiting a recorded lecture – Information Technology Services’ commitment to your connectivity knows no rest, for real. Tell ‘em how they’re holding up for a chance to turn your comments into some cold, hard, cashcard.
Form home. Fill out this five-minute survey to be entered into a raffle for one of three $100 Bookstore gift cards, and stuff that tech-or-treat bag with some textbooks and Triton textiles.

After a fairly quiet summer – aside from the construction hammering, that is – our campus is oozing with activity once again.
Easy on the ghast pedal. Because more folks + more spokes = more accidents, here’s a reminder from Transportation on how wheeled and unwheeled Tritons alike can slow down to safely navigate shared paths.
Don’t ghost your head’s health. Keep that brain in midterm-season shape by wearing a helmet while cruising campus on bikes, scooters, skateboards, and broomsticks. To make it easier on the wallet, grab a MIPS helmet for $10 courtesy of the Triton Commuter Club.

In order to stay protected from financial email scams – some of which may even arrive on your digital doorstep wearing an official-looking @ucsd.edu costume – be sure to familiarize yourself with the tactics outlined in this recent Campus Notice.
It takes a vigilance. Help ensure that the attackers’ veiled efforts are in vain by reporting any suspicious emails you receive to abuse@ucsd.edu.

The Birch Aquarium at UC San Diego's Scripps Institution of Oceanography has stayed busy, having recently spawned three critically endangered Sunflower Sea Stars – which play an essential role in the overall health of kelp forests by safeguarding them from the adverse effects of overgrazing by sea urchins.
