October is Filipino American History Month (FAHM). In 1992, Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS) promoted this month to build understanding, education, enlightenment, appreciation and enrichment of the history and culture of Filipino Americans in the United States. The Filipino League at Seton Hall (FLASH) is a student organization whose main objective is to educate the community about Filipino culture.

Italian-American Heritage and Culture Month is celebrated by proclamation of the President and Congress in the United States to honor the achievements and contributions of Italian immigrants and their descendants living in the United States, particularly in the arts, science, and culture. The Italian Club is a cultural organization to preserve and promote Italian culture, language and traditions.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, which was declared by the United States Congress in 1988 to raise awareness of the employment needs and contributions of individuals with disabilities. Americans observe this month by recognizing the accomplishments of the people with disabilities and ensuring equal opportunity for all.
