To Our Stony Brook Community:
We are excited to report that the University is entering the final phases of our Middle States Accreditation Reaffirmation process. Over the past several months, our Steering Committee and Working Groups have integrated feedback on our draft Self-Study Report, which was gathered from across the University and from members of our Middle States Site Visit Team. A final copy of this report was submitted to Middle States.
It is our distinct pleasure to present you with the final copy of this accreditation report, which tells the story of Stony Brook University, including our mission and goals; commitment to ethics and integrity; design, delivery and support for the student learning experience; assessment of student learning; planning; resources; and leadership. Please visit our Reaffirmation website, where you can read the report after signing in with your Stony Brook login credentials (NetID).
We now prepare for our full Site Visit, which will take place from April 7-10. During this time, the Middle States Site Visit Team will meet with dozens of University stakeholders and hold several open forums for students, faculty and staff that we hope you can attend. Additional information on these forums will be made available in the coming weeks.
We extend our deepest thanks to the more than 100 faculty, students and staff who comprised our Steering Committee and Working Groups, and to all of our community members who attended workshops and contributed valuable feedback throughout this process. Your insights were critical in telling the story of Stony Brook University, and your voices will be equally valuable when we host the Site Visit Team next month.
Sincerely,
