THE HISTORY OF COEDUCATION

In celebration of 50+ years of coeducation and his 50th Reunion, filmmaker Paul Lieberman ’71 directed and produced a documentary about the first exchanges and the first transfer women to receive Williams diplomas, in 1971. Featuring interviews with alumnae and former dean Nancy McIntire, the documentary chronicles the experiences of these early pathbreakers and the college's wending way toward four-year coeducation.
