Announcing an "AI Health Check" for Core Education Assignments
Faculty members who teach mid- to large-size CoreEd classes in the Humanities and Social Sciences can submit their assignments for an “AI Health Check” to see how vulnerable they are to misuse of artificial intelligence and whether their students are making good choices around AI that support their learning. Led by Distinguished Teaching Professor Keli Yerian and sponsored by the Teaching Engagement Program and Information Services.
CourseLeaf Information Added to Spring Canvas Sites
Information from CourseLeaf, our curriculum management system, has been added to all Canvas sites, starting this term. The inclusion of this data will ensure that students and instructors can easily access the UOCC-approved course specific learning outcomes. Contact your department's curriculum coordinator with questions and to have them work with the CourseLeaf system to consider revisions. 
Awards and Opportunities
Nominations for the UO Outstanding Research Awards close at 5 p.m. April 9. Awards are given for tenure-track faculty, career faculty, and staff. The awards are hosted and sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation, the Office of the Provost, and the Graduate School. 
Nominations for Graduate Education Excellence Awards are due April 11.

The Teaching Engagement Program invites faculty to participate in Duck In: Spring 2025, a week of class visits highlighting practices that promote student success and flourishing. Share your own practices by making a one-time offer of open seats in your class and learn from colleagues by claiming seats they’ve opened and seeing them in action. UO makes changes to policy around campus noise 
At the start of spring term, the UO enacted changes to policy on sound levels for the Eugene campus. The new policy relies on decibel level as an objective determination of disruptive sound during core academic class times, in an effort to balance the UO’s educational mission with freedom of expression. Willamalane Tiny Ducks Preschool
UO employee families have priority for available spots in Willamalane Park and Recreation District’s full-time Tiny Ducks preschool program.   • 27.7 percent preferred all face-to-face courses 
  • 42.1 percent preferred mostly face-to-face
  • 30.2 percent preferred 50 percent or more online 
  • 1.9 percent preferred all online courses
