From the Desk of the Vice Provost: Supporting Growth and Celebrating Excellence

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the March edition of The Forum. This month, we take a moment to celebrate the "individual brilliance" of six NJIT leaders named to the Innovate 100 list, whose work continues to shape the technological landscape of New Jersey. We are also doubling down on faculty success with two major April events: our "Funding Navigation Forum" on April 10 to help junior faculty build a winning sponsor playbook, and a critical "P&T Information Session on April 29" to streamline the upcoming promotion cycle. Whether we are refining our support infrastructure or celebrating national recognition, the focus remains the same: empowering our faculty and students.

April 10 | 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM: Faculty Fridays: Funding Navigation Forum. Join Prof. Arnob Ghosh and a panel of experts to build your "sponsor-aware" playbook for NSF, DoD, and NIH. Lunch provided (CKB 116)

April 29 | 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM: P&T Information Session. A comprehensive walkthrough of the 2026-2027 Promotion and Tenure cycle (Panasonic Room).

April 30 | 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Faculty Sabbatical Information Session. Overview of the application, best practices, and Q&A with faculty review committee (Fens 225).

April 30 | 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM: University Lecturers Sabbatical Information Session. Overview of the application, best practices, and insights on utilizing special collections for sabbatical work (Fens 225).

Ongoing: OGI Website Refresh & Fact Sheets. Look for updated guidance on international student travel and federal compliance coming to the OGI portal and Canvas.

While we focus on the infrastructure that supports our community, we must also pause to celebrate the individual brilliance that drives NJIT forward. In this edition, we are proud to highlight six of our esteemed faculty and academic leaders for their recent recognitions.

Being named to this list is a significant distinction, honoring the visionaries who are not only advancing their respective fields but also shaping the economic and technological landscape of New Jersey and beyond. Their work exemplifies the "NJIT Way"—combining rigorous research with a bold, entrepreneurial spirit.

Faculty Fridays: April 10, 2026 Funding Navigation Forum.

Early-career research is often a marathon of proposal cycles. To help our junior faculty reduce "friction" and accelerate competitive submissions, the OFA is hosting a Funding Navigation Forum.

We are bringing together a panel of successful peers and external experts to provide "sponsor-aware" perspectives on NSF (including CAREER awards), DoD, DoE, NIH, and USDA. This isn't just a high-level overview—expect a practical session focused on program manager engagement, resubmission strategies, and evaluation planning.
