How long is a full life? One of our ladies, Shirley Clark lived over 105 years. A few weeks ago, I visited with one of our men who is 99 years old. A full life has gotten longer in our own lifetimes.
Abraham lived to be 175. Not only was his life long but it was full of faith and friendship with God. God kept all of his promises to Abraham.
Abraham lived long enough to be loved and cared for by his sons Isaac and Ishmael. They buried him with Sarah in the cave he had purchased from Ephron.
If we live long enough to love our own spouses and to be buried by our kids, our lives have not been in vain. Best of all as sons and daughters of Abraham, we may put our full faith in God and become friends of God. This is the true measure of our lives.
