A fire. Then explosions. Then toxic fumes. It was the middle of the night and downtown residents needed help. Creighton students answered the call. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the time the Old Gym suddenly morphed into a Red Cross shelter.

The script has already been written. Its author is Andy Kelly, 90, a one-time Creighton student, Jesuit scholastic and demonological researcher. Kelly’s published work includes an academic bestseller about Satan. But his biggest dream: a Creighton TV series, starring Russell Crowe. Read more.
