Who are you?  Where are you going?  What do you want?  You may have pondered these things at the beginning of a new year.  Our text for this new year, John’s gospel is filled with questions like these.  Jesus clarifies life for John the Baptist and his followers.  In humility, John acknowledged that he was not the light, not the Messiah, not the prophet but a voice preparing the way.  When we come to know Jesus well, we will better understand who we are.  If we see him we will want to stay with him.  If we stay close to Jesus we will want to share him with others.  Join us on the journey to Jesus this year and find your Way, together with us.

Family 
Couples Groups Launch January 24
This spring we will launch new groups for couples with the following desires:  growing their relationship with each other and the Lord; living out God’s expectations in marriage and family as found in his word; growing in biblical community with other couples.

These small groups of three-four couples will be mentored by another couple that has walked ahead of them in faith, marriage and parenting.

Family Retreat - April 17-19, 2020
Helping families navigate family life and go against the flow of the culture by heading upstream with biblical conviction.
Plan now to join us for this amazing weekend for families, as we spend time together eating great meals, having tons of fun, age appropriate Bible Studies and family worship experiences.  We will be looking at Joshua 24 and the challenge to choose this day who we will serve; whether the gods of this world or the Lord God Almighty.  The weekend is for moms, dads, grandparents, children and youth.

January Day Trip - Friday, January 10
Leaving the church front parking lot at 9:15 AM to begin the Chocolate & Ice Cream History Tour.  Historian Keith Rosen will guide our tour and we will sample items at several stores.  Lunch is on your own at Cleburne’s Cafeteria.  The cost for this trip is $16 per person.  To make a reservation, call Barbie at 713.468.8241, ext. 8147.  No cancellations after January 6.
Kids 
Bible Drill begins this Sunday
The first night of Bible Drill (January 5) is for parents and participating children. There will be a brief parent meeting at 5:30 PM in the Great Room, followed by the first session of learning. Bible Drill is on Sunday evenings, 5:30-7:00 PM in the West Tower.

Be equipped with simple sharing tools to maximize your effectiveness in beginning gospel conversations and making disciples. Training is free of charge. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
