Hi Neighbor!
My dog is the Great Equalizer.
It used to be my children whom I would rely on to narrow the gap or conquer the great divide, but now it is my 11-year-old Golden retriever who does the daily bidding for me.
Let me explain. When my children were young, I would make friends and acquaintances through them via school, sports, or activities. Their friend groups often transferred into my friend groups, and I have been grateful to them ever since for bringing fabulous women into my life with whom I still have lasting relationships. If not for the boys, I might not have met some of these women and subsequently create lifelong bonds.

Blood Pressure (BP) Checks Save Lives
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends that adults 18 yrs. and older get screened for high BP in a clinical office setting. Hypertension (high BP), or “the silent killer,” may not cause symptoms until a heart attack or a stroke happens. Additionally, uncontrolled hypertension can lead to other serious health problems, including chronic kidney disease and chronic heart failure. You can get your BP under control with dietary changes, exercise, and medication. Fruits and vegetables provided along with limiting salt in the diet can help regulate BP. Getting 150 minutes of physical activity per week will also improve heart health.
Seeing your primary care physician and getting your BP checked yearly should be an integral part of your heart health and might save your life!
