- Avodah's Jewish Service Corps Applications Now Open
Federation partner, Avodah, is now accepting applications for individuals 21-26 to join the Jewish Service Corps. In addition to service at leading non-profits, Jewish Service Corps participants live together as a community and engage in weekly educational programs to deepen their understanding of domestic poverty, Jewish identity, and how to stay in the work long term.
- Donate Needed Goods to So Others Might Eat (SOME)
SOME works to break the cycle of homelessness in DC’s most vulnerable communities. Help them collect healthy non-perishables and food, household items, and over-the-counter medicines.
- Volunteer at Community Vaccination Clinics
Vaccine equity clinics are available around Fairfax County for communities with the highest incidence of COVID-19 and the lowest rates of vaccination. They are looking for greeters, flow controllers, and interpreters who can provide support to the clinics.
- Write Letters of Solidarity
Join HIAS on Monday, June 14th, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM to write letters of compassion and solidarity to people in immigration detention and participate in a short learning session that reflects on issues facing refugees and asylum seekers.
