"She's Off, Like a Herd of Turtles!" |
In case you missed Brenda's beautiful farewell letter to the FSW community, you can read those words here.
But, better yet, why not hear from her directly? Take a moment to enjoy this short reflection on Brenda's time here at Friends, set to the immortal sound of...you guessed it...Bruce Springsteen. You may be dancing in the dark, Brenda, but your Light burns so brightly within.

Summer Safety: New Gate Access Procedures |
Thanks to our community's feedback and the hard work of the campus safety committee, we have begun implementing new procedures to access the Camellia Lane gate. The Pfeiffer Avenue gate will remain closed throughout the summer months. You may also park in any open spot before the Camellia gate if it is closed, and then enter campus through the pedestrian walkway.
8:00AM(ish): Gate will open for the morning
9:30AM: Following camp drop-off, gate will close
11:40AM: Gate will open in preparation for half-day camp pick-up
1:00PM: Gate will close
3:45PM: Gate will re-open for full-day camp pick-up
5:30(ish): Gate will close for the night

Check Your Inboxes for Progress & Grade Reports |
After a busy year of learning and growing, we were happy to deliver Preschool, Lower School, and Middle School progress/grade reports to your inboxes. They each reflect the care that teachers take toward guiding your student's social/emotional, academic, and physical growth. The celebrations and challenges that are embedded in daily life are always present at school and we appreciate all the ways in which parents cheerlead, ask questions, support conflict resolution processes, and join us as lifelong learners.
If you have any questions about report content, please do not hesitate to reach out to your student’s teacher, advisor, or Division Director. Thank you for your partnership.

Fun in the Sun at FSW Summer Camp! |
Can you believe we've already entered week 2 of summer camp? Campus has been buzzing with activity from tiny astronauts, world travelers, chess masters, acrobatic gymnasts, improv actors, marine biologists, coding engineers, soccer superstars, hiking explorers, environmental naturalists, and everyone in between!
Check out the Instagram post and week 1 interactive newsletter below to see how Mitch, Julia, and the rest of the gang are spending their days. (A tremendous thank you to FSW student alumna, Emma Brinkley, for her work in creating this newsletter. We'll be including these each FriendsMail, so stay tuned for more!)

Please be sure to submit your student's most up-to-date immunization records to the Admissions office. This is ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT for rising kindergarteners and 7th graders in order to comply with NCDHHS's vaccine reporting requirements. Email your documents and/or questions to Admissions Assistant/Data Specialist, Theresa Schroeder, directly at theresas@fsow.org.
