Why We’re Here
A client from Gadsden County came to us after three years of homelessness, moving in and out of shelters without a steady source of income, health coverage, or a clear path forward. At first, the barriers in front of him were significant, but over time, trust and consistent support helped him reengage. Through counseling with a Kearney LCSW intern and guidance from case managers, he found stability in small but meaningful steps: securing employment, gaining access to health insurance through an on-site United Way provider, and building a steady income across two jobs.

A Milestone Worth Celebrating
One of the most meaningful moments this month came when a client took a major step toward a new future, being accepted into Tallahassee State College to pursue his associate’s degree. What made this milestone especially powerful wasn’t just the acceptance itself, but everything it represented: renewed confidence, long-term vision, and the courage to invest in himself after facing significant challenges.
