Finding the right fit

Refugio Longoria, or "Cuco" as he’s more commonly known, plans to complete his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in May 2019, but he already knows his next step is enrolling in the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School to pursue a career as a criminal defense lawyer or public defender.

Understanding the course drop process

Dropping a course is often a confusing process—but at UW-Platteville Online, it doesn’t have to be. Dedicated staff and resources are available to help you every step of the way—allowing you to skip the headache and focus on the upcoming semester.
There are two different ways to drop a distance education course, each depending on one thing: the registration deadline. Knowing the registration deadline and whether you drop your course before or after it determines what course of action you’ll take. Read more

Please support the Gary Apperson Memorial Scholarship fund

The Gary Apperson Memorial Scholarship celebrates the life of one of the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice program’s most respected and beloved instructors. After serving as a police officer for over 20 years, Gary Apperson brought his experience and talents to the university, first completing his Master of Science in Criminal Justice online in 2006 and then teaching for the undergraduate program for the next 10 years. His dedication to UW-Platteville and the criminal justice programs was recognized in 2014 when he was honored with the Outstanding Volunteer Award from the university’s Alumni Association. He passed away on Jan. 28, 2017, following complications from cancer.
Apperson’s family, friends, and colleagues have established a scholarship to carry on his legacy and are now accepting donations to support the annual award. The scholarship will recognize undergraduate and graduate students studying criminal justice who share Apperson’s passion for giving back to their community through volunteering.
You are invited to contribute to this scholarship fund at www.uwplatt.edu/give. When completing the form, please select the “other” category and enter Gary Apperson Memorial Scholarship.
