Extension Office Moving

From October 27-31, the Extension office will be closed, with staff working remotely while we move to the new location. Please contact us via email during that week. Through the first few weeks in November, please call 920-906-4623 to make an appointment if you need something from the office. We will be unpacking and organizing the new space, so responses may be delayed. Our new office will be fully open and ready to welcome you on December 1.
An Open House will also be held from 2-4 pm on Monday, November 17th, so you can stop in and see the new space! We sincerely appreciate your patience during this transition.

Busy Bees 4-H Club October Meeting

by Reporter Gabi Westphal

On Oct. 6, the Busy Bees had their meeting at the Eldorado fire station. Some of the Eldorado Volunteer Firefighters and First Responders gave a presentation about what they do when they get a fire call. We also got to see the fire trucks and equipment that they use. We even got to try on one of the firefighters’ uniforms. After the presentation, we had our meeting and Halloween party. Prizes were given out to the best decorated pumpkins and the best costumes.

Haunted Golf Cart Rides

Ledgers 4-H members enjoyed an evening of thrills and shrieks at Hickory Hills, Haunted Golf Cart Rides. Even our youngest members were able to participate with a less scary version. I think our older members were more frightened than the Cloverbuds! Adults and youth had a great time!

Calling all Youth Leaders!

Get ready to sharpen your leadership skills and connect with fellow 4-H members from across the county at our upcoming Officer Training Day! Whether you're stepping into a new officer role or just curious about what it takes, this event is your chance to:
  • Discover the responsibilities and expectations of each officer position
  • Share ideas and strategies with peers from other clubs
  • Build friendships and strengthen your leadership network
You don’t have to be an incoming officer to attend—everyone is welcome! However, don’t wait—we need at least 15 participants to make this event a success. All participants must RSVP by Monday, November 3rd. And yes, we’ll wrap up the day with a delicious pizza lunch to celebrate your hard work and new connections!

Fondy FallToberFest Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off

Owen B. participated in the recent pumpkin weigh-in with a pumpkin he grew from a seed provided by the 4-H “Learning to Grow a Pumpkin” workshop, held in May. His hard work paid off, and his 275-pound pumpkin earned him second place!

Tri-County Science Expedition

November 5, 7:30 am-5:30 pm
Participants will visit cutting-edge research labs, vibrant greenhouses, and fascinating museums at the UW Madison campus, engaging directly with scientists and researchers. This in-person opportunity offers a unique glimpse into college life while sparking curiosity in future STEM careers through interactive, age-appropriate activities. Space is limited to 20 youth participants, and two approved adult volunteers are required as chaperones. Transportation provided from two bus stop locations. Adult Leaders Association is providing funding assistance for a bus. There is a $10 cost per youth. Youth will need to bring a bagged lunch. Participants needing a note for an excused absence from school should contact Tracy. Sign up through 4H Online

4-H Day with the Wisconsin Herd

4-H Day with the Wisconsin Herd is taking place again this year, and we are so excited to have it take place mid-day on a Saturday!

The first 1000 youth in attendance receive a FREE Herd Jersey, and those who attend for 4-H Day can participate in the Pre-Game watch sitting courtside, receive autographs, and also participate in the High Five Tunnel with the Herd Players during the player announcing at the start of the game.

Tickets for the game can be purchased here or by using the QR code on the flyer

Volunteer Opportunities

We have lots of volunteer opportunities. Please contact the office at 920-906-4623 if you are interested in more details about office tasks like envelope stuffing, organizing or sorting. If you would like more info about other opportunities you can contact the office or fill out the form!
