Good morning! Faculty and staff should expect traffic and parking impacts as students move in next week. The August 31 performance evaluation deadline is quickly approaching for staff members in select budget centers; President Benjamin Ayers shares his excitement for his first week as Clemson's 16th president.

What to know today:

Clemson will welcome new and returning students to main campus residential communities from Monday, August 10, through Saturday, August 15. Move-in activities may impact parking and traffic for faculty and staff across main campus during Move-In.

The August 31 performance evaluation deadline is quickly approaching for staff members in select budget centers. While the University launched Workday in July, staff members with August 31 review deadlines will complete their annual performance review in OnBase-Performance. Performance management in Workday will launch on September 1.

FIRST DAY AT CLEMSON

President Benjamin Ayers officially began his first day as the University's 16th President yesterday. "There are a lot of things that make Clemson a special University, but first, in all of my interactions that I've had with people at Clemson, it is clear they care about this University," said Ayers. "They care about each other and that is something that is incredibly special and also something that is unique."

The Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences is celebrating its 60th anniversary and the impact the department has had on public health, supporting economic growth and strengthening the systems that sustain communities and industry.

Chemist Thao Tran Dominy is one of seven planning committee members chosen to create a National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine workshop to chart chemistry's path to 2050. The workshop will examine how chemistry and chemical engineering can drive future advances in energy, quantum computing, and materials and manufacturing.
