WILL YOU BE OUR VALENTINE?
SHARE WITH US WHAT YOU LOVE ABOUT ST M!
Every day, our faculty and staff bring into our classrooms their love of teaching and passion for inspiring children, as they strive to make every child's and family's experience at St M a meaningful and special one.
As this is Valentine's week, will you share with us what you LOVE most about St M?
We would be "tickled pink" if would take a moment to click HERE and send us your thoughts.  In thanks for your sentiments, everyone who shares their St M love by Thursday, 2/12 will be registered for a chance to win a delectable box of Godiva chocolates. Three winners will be chosen (1 each from grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-8). The winners will be announced on Friday, 2/13. (We won't tell if you regift the chocolates to a special person on February 14th!)
Thank you for sharing the love! We LOVE all of our St M families and wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day!

  • How do we do it?
  • Why do we do it?
The meeting dates are as follows: (feel free to attend one that best fits your schedule)
  • Tuesday, February 24 at 1:45 p.m. at the Bon Air Campus

Thank you to the SMPA for hosting this program. Hope you can join us!

WHAT A GAME! At the SMBA Championship on Tuesday, the Gold team won a nail biter over the White team, 22-21. Congratulations to both teams on reaching the Championship game! Kudos as well to the Red team for winning the Strauss Sportsmanship Award for their great sportsmanship throughout the year.
No sports championship would be complete without pre-game and half-time fun! (Thank you SMPA!) Hope everyone enjoyed the s'mores roast before the game (Thank you Chris Kardian and Alison Reining for organizing), as well as the half-time percussion entertainment by Middle School student and Jam session drummer, Josef Kuhn, and the Knock-Out competition!  And last but not least, sincere thanks to all of our wonderful SMBA coaches who gave of their time and talents! It was a great season!

LOWER SCHOOL
LEGO LEAGUE LEADERS NEEDED! Last call for fourth grade Lego volunteer coaches: families, alumni, and high/middle school students welcome. Please contact Mr. Jones if interested. We appreciate your help and leadership!
Fourth Grade Receives Garden Grant!  The fourth grade will be starting their plant unit soon and will have newly-made raised garden beds to plant in!  St. Michael’s was selected to receive a grant for an “Edible Garden” from the Virginia Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom.  The raised beds are located in a sunny spot just behind the Lower School gym.  Students will be planting spinach, lettuce, radishes, beets, and other spring crops in order to grow their own salads to harvest and eat in May.  In addition, the students will be planting seeds inside that will be then moved outside in May so that they can grow their own summer vegetables as well.  Many thanks to The Great Big Greenhouse who greatly reduced the price of the dirt, compost and other items that were needed for construction of the beds.
Join us for After School Fun and Games: We are excited to offer a new after school opportunity for Grades 3-5 called "Fun and Games." A different game will be played each week, including kickball, pickle ball, Frisbee golf and more! These will be held on Tuesday afternoons from 3-4:00 p.m., beginning March 17 and ending April 14. Click here to sign-up! Sign-ups due in please by March 6.

Support our St M Scouts Food Drive: Please support Troop 426! Our 5th grade Girls Scouts earn their bronze award through a donation of canned food to support the St. Michael’s Church food pantry. The bronze award represents the highest honor a Girl Scout Junior can receive. It is a leadership journey that represents Girl Scouts to the broader community. Please donate the following items: Cereal, Peanut Butter, Tuna and Canned food (No glass items). Donated items may be placed in one of the designated class room boxes Feb. 9–13. Thank you! - 5th Grade Troop 426
