On Friday, August 29, at 8:10 pm, the NYU Department of Campus Safety received a report of three burglaries that occurred at Maison de l'Île-de-France, in Paris. The incidents occurred between August 26 and August 29.
The first victim, an NYU student, reported they left their dorm room locked on August 26. When they returned later that day, the victim discovered their door was open and their wallet with money was missing.
Another victim, an NYU student, reported they heard noises in their dorm room while the victim was in the shower on August 28, at approximately 11:00 AM. The victim later discovered their wallet was missing from their dorm room.
The third victim, an NYU student, reported that on August 29, an unknown individual attempted to enter their dorm room while they were inside. The door was locked at the time of the incident. After realizing there was someone inside the dorm room, the unknown individual fled the scene.
All students were offered support services. The on-site security staff is actively investigating the incidents and will be increasing patrols in the building.
