They’re not scientific illustrations. Instead, they are Josh’s joyful interpretation of the biggest ideas in astrophysics, translated into art. All are made with glasses that he formulates himself, Corona Glass, New Mexico Glass and much more, developed over decades of experimentation.
Josh made the disk shown here just last week while doing a demonstration for visitors from the Springfield Museums; its gold ruby background is something he has never tried in this context before. Even after 53 years at the furnace, Josh is still exploring, testing boundaries and having fun.
