To the campus community:
This week a group with large, graphic images of fetuses was on campus near the library quad. These images can be disturbing to those who may encounter them. Signs warning people that the images are on display will be put out when these groups are on campus. You can avoid them by being aware of their location in the library quad or by choosing an alternative route.
While the University does not take a position on these matters and honors the First Amendment rights afforded to all, we do not endorse this group's approach. Sacramento State, however, is a public space, and this group has a right to be present on our campus and to exercise their right to free speech. As a campus and as administrators, we are legally required to respect that right.
Concerned students who may be impacted by these graphic images should consider talking to a trusted friend, faculty member, or other supportive individuals, or visit our Counseling Services in the WELL or contact them at 916-278-6461.
Concerned faculty and staff should contact our University Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at 1-800-367-7474 or online at http://www.csus.edu/hr/departments/benefits/eap.html.
As a community, let's take care of one another.

Dr. Mia Settles-Tidwell
Vice President for Inclusive Excellence and University Diversity Officer
