Once a week for years, Cassidy Nipp and Fr. Larry Gillick, SJ, (who is blind) tied their wrists together and ran side by side on the track at the Kiewit Fitness Center. Nipp graduated in May and is now a pediatric nurse at Children’s Nebraska in Omaha — and she’s still touched by the experiences she shared with Fr. Gillick and others on campus. “Creighton ignites your heart in ways you could never plan for or expect,” she said. Read more about her friendship with Fr. Gillick.

Andrea Lawse (btw, check out her husband’s story above!) one day decided to blend some herbs in her kitchen. She soon created a new tea, which later became the flagship flavor of her local business. The S.S. Creighton Victory, a 455-foot-long armed cargo ship, was named after the University to honor the 100 students and alumni who had been killed during World War II. The vessel made its debut in 1945. Learn more about its christening and its missions.
