| | Dear RV Friend, With the summer vacation season fast approaching, RVers are turning their attention to trip planning. Technology offers so many options for mapping out routes, pinpointing fun things to do along the way, and finding and reserving campsites. It’s a fantastic time to be an RV adventurer! We’d love to hear about your favorite trip planning methods and the websites you use for finding RV parks. Meanwhile, we have a few ideas to get you started. Even if you aren’t ready to hit the road just yet, explore these sites and make plans for your next epic road trip. Sometimes trip planning is half the fun. The possibilities are endless with an RV as your magic carpet. Keep planning, keep dreaming, keep traveling! Sincerely,
The FMCA Team

Huge thank you to Robert and Rita Landrum (F413023), FMCA Pinch Hitters, for helping return our motorhome to storage...They graciously answered our request for help to drive our rig. And Robert even gave me a lesson in the 3-point turn to get the motorhome into its space. FMCA members are the best! —Mike & Nancy Honkomp, F429915

Overweight?
Having an overweight RV can lead to expensive and dangerous consequences. Have you had your RV weighed to make sure it isn’t exceeding its ratings?
It’s best to have your RV weighed by individual wheel position. This provides the information you need to determine proper tire pressure. The tricky part is you can’t just roll up to any weigh station and have this done.
What’s an RVer to do? One place to have your RV weighed by individual wheel is at an FMCA convention. Next up: July 18 through 21 in Gillette, Wyoming.
For more information about RV weighing and tire safety, check out this article from the FMC Magazine archives.

Preparing for National Park Adventures
If you're new to U.S. national parks, these tips can help make for a hassle-free RV adventure:
Avoid Crowds If possible, visit during the spring or fall.
Plan Your Route You may encounter steep grades, tight tunnels, or gravel roads.
Don’t Delay At popular parks, reservations may be necessary months or even a year ahead. Some parks offer a combination of reserved spots and first-come, first served sites.

Fast Food
If you asked a group of RVers to share their best cooking secret, some of them would reply "Instant Pot."
Of course, this kitchen appliance is anything but a secret. These multifunctional electric pressure cookers have what could be described as a “cult” following. The company’s Instant Pot Community group on Facebook has approx. 1.3 million members — and growing!
The Instant Pot can serve as a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice maker, saute pan, steamer, yogurt maker, and stockpot warmer. It’s ideal for RVers who want to spend less time in the kitchen without resorting to the usual “fast food.”
