Night of Ideas

The Center for French and Francophone Studies at Duke University and Villa Albertine are gathering to host the first Night of Ideas in Durham that will be held at the Durham County Main Library on February 29.
This year’s theme is “Outside the Lines”, which we propose to address specifically through the lens of urban mutations and climate change, as they strongly echo Durham’s own rapid transformation.
Humanity at the Heart: A Dialogue Rooted in Anti-Violence
March 4, 6:00-7:30 in The Commons

Join us for dialogue, rooted in anti-violence, where humanity is at the heart of the conversation. This lightly facilitated dialogue offers a safe space to reflect, share, and listen over a meal and delve into our shared experiences of the last 149 days in Gaza and the broader impact. Concluding with anonymous readings of community member reflections, this evening promises to foster deeper understanding and connection. This is an event for undergraduate Duke students, developed by students and sponsored by Duke Student Affairs.

Registration is required to participate, please use this form. Deadline to register is February 28.

If you are interested in submitting a confidential reflection to be read at the conclusion of the event, please use this form. Your name will not be associated with the story or reflection you submit. Not all submissions will be read aloud. You do not have to participate in the event to submit a story. The deadline to submit is February 28, 2024.
