New Recruitment Campaign Materials: The CASA Effect
We are excited to announce that Recruitment materials for our newest campaign, The CASA Effect, are available for download and customization! The CASA Effect is a play on The Butterfly Effect, a well-known phenomenon that describes how a minor event today might have a major impact at a later time and location. This is a beautiful metaphor to describe the seemingly small, yet ultimately meaningful and memorable impact of a CASA. We encourage you to visit our recently updated Recruitment & Branding page, formally the Marketing & Public Relations page, in the Texas CASA Program Portal to learn more about our new statewide recruitment campaign and check out the other available resources.

The WHIT Program Offerings
The goal of The WHIT Program is to help children in foster care get up to speed with school and is a great resource for CASA-assigned children and youth. The WHIT program recruits volunteer university students and trains them in tutoring, confidentiality and spotting abuse and neglect. After a background check, they match the volunteer tutors with a child in foster care who is behind in school and needs help with math or reading. The tutors then meet weekly with their match until they reach grade level. The WHIT program is free to all children and youth in foster care.
