Wishing the happiest Mother's Day to all of our FSW mamas out there!! (Fur-moms, angel-baby moms, and mother figures included! π)
Mothers are the foundation of life, and none of your children's accomplishments would be possible without you. We wish you all a day of rest, because you work SO hard, and hope that you are cherished and celebrated today in every way you deserve. πΈπ

It's safe to say we had a turtle theme happening this week! Between the one rescued and rehabilitated by Karen and Luke, to the one our Middle Schoolers safe-guarded as it crossed back over to the pond, our hard-shelled friends were quite present on campus! Head over to our Instagram page for more photos and information about these turtle sightings.Β

| I warmly invite you to join us for Evening with Friends on Saturday, May 16 at the Shell Center on Wrightsville Beach. A special gathering to celebrate our community and support the ongoing life of our school.
This event is more than a social evening; it is an important part of how we sustain the educational experience we value so deeply. Approximately 90% of our operating revenue comes from tuition, and each year we rely on the remaining 10% to come from auxiliary sources (primarily our summer camp programs) and the Annual Fund. Like many independent schools, we are navigating a gap between what tuition covers and the full cost of delivering a rich, mission-driven education.
Evening with Friends plays a vital role in helping us close that gap.
A highlight of the evening will be the conclusion of our auction, featuring a range of meaningful and exciting items, from teacher experiences, to personal care, and opportunities that reflect the creativity and generosity of our community. Every bid placed directly supports our ability to meet this yearβs budget and continue providing the programs, faculty support, and student experiences that define our school.
Even if you are unable to attend in person, you can still make a meaningful impact by participating in the auction. Your involvement, whether through bidding, attending, or simply spreading the word, helps ensure the strength and sustainability of our school.
We hope you will join us on May 16 for an evening of connection, purpose, and shared commitment to our students and community.

Harvesting and Planting in our Raised Beds |
|
|
|
| The raised beds at Longleaf Center are gradually letting go of fall and late winter crops as spring herbs and veggies take center stage.
This week students in Preschool, Kindergarten, and Middle School harvested onions and garlic and planted new crops of tomatoes, peppers, parsley, dill and fennel. The onions and garlic will dry inside the garden shed for the next week or two before sharing with our community. With the help of warm rains and bright sunny days, our spring crops are flourishing so far.
When you have time, stop by the back of Longleaf Center to see this seasonal transformation. We hope to harvest veggies with Summer Campers later in June!
