Calling All Seawolves!
Monday, September 22nd is the Annual Car Free Day Long Island and Stony Brook University needs your help to be re-crowned as the Colleges/Universities Champion! The Stony Brook University Office of Sustainability is encouraging the campus community to take a train, bus, bicycle, carpool, or walk for the day. Last year, SBU won the highest pledge count numbers with 892 members of the community pledging to participate in sustainable transportation. This year our goal is to have over 1,000 pledges.
Every pledge will automatically be entered into a drawing for prizes including a Contend Road bike, Hybrid Escape bike, and a 10 trip All-Access Long Island Pass from the LIRR. Click here to submit your pledge and be entered into the drawing.
Help us recognize the positive impact that alternative forms of transportation can have on our environment and bring Stony Brook University to the top of the pledge chart in this year's competition!
To learn more about Car Free Day Long Island, check out their website here or contact the Office of Sustainability with any questions.
We look forward to all of our SBU community coming together and Dare to Be Car Free September 22nd!
