On Thursday, August 1, the Department of Campus Safety received a report of a fondling that occurred at approximately 6:58 p.m., inside 714 Broadway near Washington Place in Manhattan.
An NYU student was walking eastbound on Washington Place between Mercer Street and Broadway, when an unidentified individual began staring and acting unusually toward the student. The student continued walking towards Broadway and entered Buffalo Exchange Clothing Store, located at 714 Broadway. The unknown individual followed the student into the store and physically bumped into the student. When the student retreated to a different section of the store, the unknown individual again approached the student and grabbed the student's buttocks, then quickly walked out of the store. No words were exchanged between the student and the unknown individual at any point during the incident.
No injuries were reported.
Description of Suspect: The suspect was described as male-presenting with a light complexion, wearing a big light colored shirt, short blonde hair, and appeared to be unhoused. The suspect was approximately 6'-5" tall, 30 to 40 years of age.
