We did it!

Thanks to the generosity of our caring community of friends, GAgives on Giving Tuesday was an amazing success! We raised over $6,000, completely surpassing our goal of $5,000 for A.G. Rhodes’ Songs for Seniors Music Therapy program! This special program helps our elders retain their precious memories through the joy of music, and we humbly thank those who helped us give the gift of song to those we serve.

Watch A.G. Rhodes CEO Deke Cateau and Director of Music Therapy John Abel talk about Songs for Seniors on 11Alive's Atlanta & Company.

Board Member, Volunteer, and Friend Honored for Distinguished Service

Jocelyn Dorsey is a household name in Atlanta. Most of us have seen her on television at some point throughout her 45-year-plus career as a journalist for WSB-TV. During her career—and now in retirement—Jocelyn has devoted her time to many causes throughout metro Atlanta, including at A.G. Rhodes. Jocelyn recently received the LeadingAge Georgia Distinguished Service Award for her service at A.G. Rhodes and for advancing important initiatives to support the aging population in our community. Employee Spotlight: Carolyn Ford
When Carolyn Ford started her first day of work as a dietary aide at A.G. Rhodes Atlanta more than 39 years ago, the cook didn’t show up and the dietary manager was off that day. With less than an hour on the job, Carolyn found herself cooking for all the residents. She made meatloaf, mashed potatoes, turnip greens, and cornbread. The residents loved it.
