This week, the legislature passed Bill 9, the Municipal Accountability Act, 2025.
Bill 9 provides the foundation for the much-anticipated new ethical framework governing the behaviour of elected municipal officials. This is a significant achievement for municipal governments and AMO.

Every Second Counts: Know When to Call 9-1-1
Up to half of all 9-1-1 calls are non-urgent (pocket dials, noise complaints etc), diverting critical attention from life-threatening situations. Ontario's Emergency Services Steering Committee has spearheaded a province-wide public information campaign to help.
